Man Stabbed To Death In San Jose Park
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police are investigating a fatal stabbing in a park in downtown San Jose, a police spokeswoman said Thursday.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in Cesar Chavez Park, located in the 100 block of South Market Street, at about 12:20 a.m., police Sgt. Heather Randol said.
When officers arrived at the park, they found a male suffering from at least one stab wound, Randol said.
Randol said the victim was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
No suspects have been identified or apprehended, she said.
Although police did not identify the victim, an employee at the nearby Fairmont Hotel, who declined to use his name, said the man was homeless who was frequently seen the area.
The homicide is the city's fifth of the year.
