Man Parking Car In San Francisco Accidently Hits 3-Year-Old Boy, Man

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man who thought he had shifted his car into park in San Francisco's Telegraph Hill neighborhood Saturday afternoon accidentally ran into two people, including a little boy, police said Monday.

The driver, a 40-year-old man, was parking around 4:30 p.m.

Saturday in the 1900 block of Grant Avenue and thought he had put his gray four-door 2013 Acura into park, police said.

When he lifted his foot off the brake, the car jumped the sidewalk and struck a 3-year-old boy and a 75-year-old man, police said.

Both pedestrians were taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries to their head and chest, police said.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
