Police Searching For Man Trying To Lure Teen Girls In Napa, St. Helena
NAPA (CBS SF) – Napa and St. Helena police said Friday a Hispanic man has been trying to lure younger teenage girls into his vehicle in the Napa Valley for more than three weeks.
There were two incidents in Napa and nine in St. Helena between Aug. 26 and Sept. 15, and police in both cities believe the events are related, Troendly said.
Each incident involved the suspect alone in a vehicle, Troendly said. In all but one of the cases, the vehicle was described as an older model tan, gold or brown sedan, Troendly said. In one case the vehicle was described as a mid to late 1990s Toyota single cab, dark green pickup.
The suspect is targeting girls 13-16 years old who are walking to or from schools in the morning and afternoon. The suspect asks the girls if they need a ride and has sometimes circled back and asked them their names, Troendly said.
The Hispanic male suspect with a skinny or medium build is in his 30s or 40s with a dark complexion and short dark hair. He has been described as clean-shaven and with facial hair and speaks very clear English with a slight accent, Troendly said.
Anyone who notices similar incidents or who has information about the incidents is asked to contact Napa police at (707) 257-9507 or St. Helena police at (707) 967-2850.
