Man In Custody After Allegedly Running Over, Killing Man After Vallejo Stabbing

VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A man is in custody after allegedly running over and killing a man who stabbed him in Vallejo on Saturday night, a police lieutenant said.

Police responded around 10:30 p.m. to a traffic collision on Springs Road and Thelma Avenue, where the driver of a U-Haul pickup had struck two pedestrians, police said.

One of the pedestrians, 29-year-old Vallejo resident Robert Nolon-Corominas, was found under the front tire of the truck, police Lt. Joe Iacono said.

Medical personnel took him to a hospital, but he died of his injuries, police said.

Investigators determined that Nolon-Corominas had gotten into a fight with and stabbed 30-year-old Kyle Lombardi. Lombardi then got into the truck and hit Nolon-Corominas, as well as a female who was treated at a hospital for a minor arm injury, according to Iacono.

Lombardi fled on foot but was later apprehended. He remains in custody at a hospital and the Solano County District Attorney's Office is reviewing possible charges against him, Iacono said.
