Man Found Shot Dead In San Jose; City's 19th Homicide
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police were investigating a homicide that happened in San Jose on Thursday night, a police sergeant said.
Officers responded to a report of a group of persons fighting in the 1000 block of South 12th Street around 10:10 p.m., San Jose Police Lieutenant Johnson Fong said.
Arriving officers found a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound and pronounced him dead at the scene, he said.
Fong said there were witnesses to the incident and encourage them to come forward. He did not have any information on potential suspects.
Police have not identified the victim pending notification of his next of kin, Sgt. Heather Randol said.
No arrests have been made arrests and no suspect information was available, according to Randol.
The shooting is the city's 19th homicide this year, she said.
