Man Fatally Struck By Caltrain In Burlingame

BURLINGAME (CBS SF) -- Caltrain is experiencing delays after a man was struck and killed by a southbound train in Burlingame Monday night, Caltrain officials said.

Southbound Caltrain No. 192 hit the man on the tracks south of the Broadway station around 9 p.m., Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

About 400 passengers and crews members on the train were not injured, she said.

Trains have stopped in the area as emergency crews respond to the scene, according to Dunn.

Northbound Caltrain No. 195 was held at the San Mateo station and will be moved to the Burlingame station where it will stay until tracks reopen, she said.

A bus bridge is being set up to transport passengers between the San Mateo and Millbrae stations, Dunn said.

Caltrain tickets are being honored at the Millbrae BART station, she said.
