Man Fatally Shot In Head At Salinas House Party
SALINAS (CBS SF) -- A 33-year-old man died early Sunday morning after he was shot in the head in front of a Salinas home.
Around 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at 29 Julia Ave., according to police.
When officers arrived, officers found the victim, identified as Jose Sanchez, suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.
Emergency crews immediately transported Sanchez to Natividad Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead several hours later, according to police.
After an investigation, officers learned Sanchez had been at the house for a party. During the party, Sanchez had become involved in an argument with two other men, according to police.
The argument carried over into the street, where one of the two men pulled a handgun out and shot Sanchez.
All of the occupants of the house were uncooperative. The occupants also denied that Sanchez was even at the house, according to police.
Officers were able to locate one suspect, while the other remains outstanding. Police did not release the identity of the suspects.
