Officers responded at 10:45 a.m. to a report of a collision on Byron Highway south of Byron Hot Springs Road.
A 34-year-old Roseville woman was driving a 2012 Ford Flex south on Byron Highway when she slowed down to turn left into a private driveway, according to the CHP.
As the woman was attempting to turn left, a 24-year-old Bay Point man driving a 2015 Dodge Ram tried to overtake the Ford Flex by passing on the left, CHP officers said.

The car overturned several times before landing on its roof in a field, CHP officers said.
Two passengers, a 41-year-old Bay Point man and an 89-year-old Bay Point woman, were pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the CHP.
Both the driver of the Dodge Ram and a 60-year-old Bay Point woman, who was a passenger in the car, suffered moderate to minor injuries and CHP officers said they were transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
The driver of the Ford Flex was not injured, CHP officers said.
