Man Arrested In Calistoga Stabbing

CALISTOGA (CBS SF) -- Calistoga police arrested a man suspected of stabbing an acquaintance during an argument near Calistoga High School early Tuesday morning.

Police found the male victim in his 20s on Lake Street between Fair Way and Miriam Avenue, Sgt. Tim Martin said.

The victim suffered multiple life-threatening stab wounds in his chest and abdomen and was flown by the REACH Air Ambulance helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Martin said.

Police have been monitoring the victim's condition with his family members, Martin said this afternoon.

Nestor Verduzco, 21, was arrested at his Calistoga residence on suspicion of attempted murder.

Verduzco and the victim knew each other and there are no threats to the community, police said.
