Man Accused Of Killing 2 Deputies From Sacramento And Placer County: 'I Did Kill Those Cops'
SACRAMENTO (CBS SF/AP) -- A man charged with killing two sheriff's deputies stunned a courtroom on Wednesday by blurting out that he committed the crimes and is ready to be executed.
At the end of a hearing in Sacramento County Superior Court, an agitated Luis Enrique Monroy Bracamontes said "I did kill those cops." While being led away in chains he said he should be executed.
Earlier, during a break, Monroy-Bracamontes repeatedly told his lawyers he wanted to plead guilty. They said he could not and later blamed his outbursts on anxiety.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for the Utah man.
Bracamontes and his wife, Janelle Marquez Monroy, both are charged with murder, along with numerous other charges, in the slayings of Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff's Detective Michael Davis Jr. in the Oct. 24 rampage that also wounded a motorist and another deputy.
