Lyft Passenger Killed In Roseville Crash Following Halloween Party
ROSEVILLE (CBS SF) - A passenger riding in a Lyft car service vehicle died following a crash in Roseville this weekend.
Authorities say the Lyft driver swerved on I-80 to avoid hitting a car stalled on the freeway. The Lyft driver then lost control and slammed into two trees.
West Sacramento resident Shane Holland, who was riding home from a Halloween party with his boyfriend, died in the accident. He was 24-years-old.
CHP has identified the driver as 31-year-old Sacramento resident Shanti Adhikari.
Lyft spokeswoman Erin Simpson offered condolences to the victim's family on Sunday and said the rideshare service is cooperating with investigators.
The Lyft driver and the other passenger were hurt. The extent of their injuries is not known.
