Lightning, Thunder Rolls Through Sacramento Area Leaving Thousands In The Dark

SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) -- A thunderstorm rolled through the Sacramento area causing widespread power outages Friday morning.

According to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, over 3,800 people are without power in Downtown Sacramento, Florin and Land Park areas, while another 4,143 people are without power near Sacramento Executive Airport.

PG&E's Outage Center reported over 630 customers are without power in Clarksburg, just south of Sacramento.

A lightning strike has also caused a service disruption on Sac RT's Blue Line light rail, according to CBS Sacramento. Sac RT says that a bus bridge is in place from 13th Street to Meadowview.
