(KBCW) -- The famed Drakes Bay Oyster Company will be forced to close their farm Thursday.

After two long years of fighting the drakes bay oyster company will close its doors. Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court decision forced the farm to close during litigation.

They are fighting to keep the lease on the property, which is controlled by the Park Service, after it expired two years ago.

The Park Service wants to return the property to the wilderness.

The oyster farm provides nearly one third of California's oysters.

Their closing event starts at their headquarters in Inverness at 11am.
