Woman Shot While Driving Along Interstate 80 in Vallejo
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A woman was shot while driving along Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo, with her car being hit by nearly a dozen bullets, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident happened sometime after 10 p.m. Sunday night along the westbound I-80 lanes.
The CHP said the woman was driving white Infiniti sedan east of Redwood St. when a driver in a dark-colored sedan pulled up alongside her and began shooting at the Infiniti.
After the shooting, both the Infiniti and the dark-colored sedan exited at Redwood St. and the victim drove to a nearby Chevron gas station and called 911, the CHP said. The shooter fled in an unknown direction on Redwood St.
The woman was taken to the hospital with at least one gunshot wound but was expected to survive. There were at least 10 bullet holes observed on the Infiniti sedan.
Investigators did not provide any information on a suspect, only that the shots came from a dark-colored sedan.
