Major Injuries Reported In 4-Car Crash On I-80 At Berkeley Curve

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Major injuries were reported in a four-car crash on eastbound Interstate 80 at the Berkeley Curve, California Highway Patrol officers said.

The crash was reported at around 2:15 a.m. on Interstate 80 just east of the Bay Bridge.

CHP issued a Sig-alert at 2:50 a.m. when officers closed the eastbound transition at the Berkeley Curve. Traffic was diverted to eastbound Interstate Highway 580.

Officers called tow trucks for three badly damaged cars just before 3 a.m. All lanes were reopened at 3:40 a.m.
