BART Riders Expected To Face Nightmare Morning Commute
CONCORD (CBS SF) -- As many as 25 BART cars were taken out of commission Wednesday due to an equipment problem and commuters are being warned of continued delays Thursday morning.
Crews were scrambling to fix the issue Wednesday night, but East Bay commuters will likely find that bus bridges remain in place Thursday morning.
BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said, "Tomorrow morning it's gonna be worse."

BART officials initially reported around 10 a.m. Wednesday that service had stopped between North Concord/Martinez and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations because of an equipment problem on the tracks.
A bus bridge was set up to ease delays, according to an agency dispatcher, but the problem has continued into the evening. Since there are only seven buses currently connecting the two stations, bigger crowds are expected to slow transit times as the evening commute ramps up.
Less significant delays are also expected on other lines in the system, according to BART.
BART officials said the disruption was brought on by a "trackside equipment problem that we are working to troubleshoot and correct."
