Homeless Man Acquitted Of Vandalism Charge After Throwing Skateboard At Uber Driver's Windshield In SF

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)__ A homeless man has been acquitted of all charges in a case involving an altercation in December with an Uber driver.

On Friday a jury in San Francisco found 49-year-old Martin Knaak not guilty of vandalism and resisting arrest.

The charges stemmed from a December 6th incident in which Knaak and the Uber driver got into a dispute over whether Knaak had jaywalked on a nearby street.

That altercation escalated when Knaak threw his skateboard into the windshield of the Uber driver's Prius as the driver sped toward Knaak.

Jurors in the case later stated they believed Knaak acted in self defense.

The Uber driver had testified that he did not pursue Knaak, however the driver's cell phone video contradicted those claims.
