Heavy Rain Causes Power Outages Throughout Bay Area
(CBS SF) -- A couple thousand Pacific Gas and Electric customers are without power across the Bay Area Tuesday morning.
The South Bay is the most impacted area, with over 900 customers without power in and around San Jose. Over 800 East Bay customers are also in the dark, with the majority of the outages in Berkeley.
Officials believe the outages were caused by the morning's rain. PG&E crews are out in the field making repairs, but there's no estimate on when power will be restored.
Anyone who sees a downed power line is advised to assume it's live and call 911 immediately.
