Haters Weigh In After Man Posts Pics Of 17-Pound Lobster Birthday Dinner At Burlingame Restaurant
BURLINGAME (CBS SF) -- A man received a lot of negative responses after posting pics on Reddit of his pricey birthday meal that included a 17-pound lobster from a Bay Area restaurant.
Reddit user "KimcheeBreath" posted a series of pictures of him and his family enjoying the monstrous crustacean from Burlingame's New England Lobster and Eatery Tuesday, adding that the lobster itself cost $200, and came with seven cups of melted butter.
But, commenters were quick to criticize the original poster over their estimations of the lobster's age. Many commenters added that large lobsters have less flavorful and tougher meat than smaller younger, lobsters.
"KimcheeBreath" said the restaurant estimated the 17-pound lobster would yield about six-pounds of meat, and that it was "just as good as the 2 pounders."
