Guy With An "Attitude" Tries To Rob San Carlos Gas Station

SAN CARLOS (CBS SF) - A man who wore his attitude not on his sleeve but on the back of his shirt is being sought following an attempted robbery of a San Carlos gas station.

Surveillance images showed the man entering into the Shell gas station convenience store and walking behind the counter to confront clerk, ordering him to open the register.

The man was described as white with a thin build and shaved head, wearing white painters pants and a white t-shirt with the message 'Monster Attitude' on the back.

The man did not seem to armed and the clerk refused the man's repeated demands to open the register. At one point the man appeared to take a set of keys from the clerk, who was yelling at the intruder to stop and threatening to call police.

Finally, the man gave up, tossing the keys back onto the counter and walking out.

San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies responded and were not able to locate him.

He fled in a white, 2-door pickup older Chevrolet pickup truck with black rubber trim and with a tool box in the bed, the sheriff's office said.
