Guitar Hero Launching Comeback Tour With New 'Live' Version

SANTA MONICA (KCBS) - Guitar Hero is getting a revival.

Santa Monica-based Activision is launching a new version of the game called Guitar Hero Live, five years after its last update.

The new version will be available for all gaming consoles as well as iOS and Android operations systems, along with a new guitar controller and multiplayer modes.

Testers are all over the game, and two constant positives are the first-person view, giving you a look at the audience, and apparently the new controller doesn't require the use of your pinky finger.

More than 25 million Guitar Hero units have been sold, but Activision ended the franchise after revenue plunged to $300 million in 2009 from $1.7 billion in 2008.
