Golden Gate Transit Fares Going Up

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Golden Gate Ferry and Golden Gate Transit regional bus fares are increasing 5 percent on Tuesday.

The fare increases are part of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District's 5-year transit fare program.

The Marin County local bus fare and the Giants Ferry fare will not increase, the District said.

The one-way adult fare on the Larkspur Ferry will increase 50 cents to $10, and the Sausalito Ferry will increase 50 cents to $10.75.

The Clipper fare will increase 25 cents to $6.50 on the Golden Gate Ferry and 25 cents to $5.50 on the Sausalito Ferry.

Fares for youth 6-18 years old, seniors 65 and up and for disabled riders will increase 25 cents to $5 on the Golden Gate Ferry and $5.50 on the Sausalito Ferry.

Golden Gate Transit one-way adult bus fares to and from San Francisco and in Marin and Sonoma counties are increasing 25 to 50 cents and Clipper fares are increasing 20 to 40 cents depending on the distance traveled. Youth, senior and disabled passenger fares are increasing 25 cents for most trips. Marin County local cash fares are not increasing.
