'Godzilla' Stomps All Over San Francisco In New Movie Preview

(CBS NEWS) - Ominous music, serious dialogue, big-budget special effects and a certain monster await those watching the newly-released trailer for "Godzilla."

The preview trailer, released Tuesday, is one of the first glimpses we've gotten at the reboot from British director Gareth Edwards and starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Sally Hawkins, Juliette Binoche and Ken Watanabe.

It opens with an aerial view of a mass exodus out of a rural farm country. Bryan Cranston's voice can be heard in the background as scenes from disasters appear from Japan to Las Vegas. Cranston says "You are not fooling anybody when you say that what happened was a natural disaster. You're LYING. It was not an earthquake. It wasn't a typhoon..." At one point, a dark and ominous view from across the water shows a city on fire and a familiar triangular building amongst the buildings can be seen.

A teaser trailer was released in December that showed scenes of a military group parachuting above and into the city. As they descend, glimpses of what looks like the silhouette of a reptile appears.
