DUBLIN -- Police in Dublin said Dublin Boulevard has reopened early Tuesday evening after a 90-minute closure due to a gas leak.

In a tweet posted shortly before 3:30 p.m., Dublin police said the road near the border with Pleasanton just north of I-580 would be closed in both directions between Tassajara Road and Brannigan Street.

A Sutter Health hospital is located at the intersection of Dublin Boulevard and Tassajara Road where the closure begins. So far, there is no word regarding what caused the gas leak.

PG&E crews are at the scene. Dublin police later confirmed the roadway had reopened shortly before 5 p.m. Authorities said PG&E was able to dig 75 yards away from the ruptured line to pinch off the area and stop the leak.

Police said PG&E would remain on scene for several more hours to complete additional repairs.
