Monkeys Tear Up Voter Lists Ahead Of Thai Referendum
Phichit election official Prayoon Jakkraphatcharakul said if feeding the monkeys did not deter them, then newly installed sliding glass doors might - if they don't figure out how to open them.
Prayoon speculated that the pink color of the voter lists for the Aug. 7 referendum might have attracted the animals.
Two 8-year-old girls in the northern province of Kamphaeng Phet were charged last week with obstructing the referendum process and destroying public property when they tore down voter lists because they liked the pink paper on which they were printed.
