Two Suspects Arrested After Armed Standoff With SWAT Officers At Fremont Hotel

FREMONT (CBS SF) - A tense standoff ending in Fremont came to an end early Friday evening after an armored SWAT vehicle breached a hotel room at Mission Peak Dodge, authorities said.

SWAT used a battering ram to push down a fence and shatter the glass door.

A SWAT team in Fremont responded early Friday afternoon to a pair of armed suspects barricaded inside a hotel. The department tweeted that officers were working the incident at the Mission Peak Lodge on Mission Boulevard.

Two armed suspects refused to come out. Mission Boulevard was shut down in both directions between Cedar and Pine. The closure was expanded to between Anza and Pine at about 2 p.m.

After hours of waiting, police moved in.

With their hotel room breached, the two suspects finally surrendered around 5:30 p.m.

They both emerged from the hotel room and maneuvered over that crushed fence with their hands up.

The suspect's identities and motives have not been released.
