Update: Manhunt in Fremont ends with two arrests
FREMONT – Police in Fremont announced two arrests following a manhunt in a neighborhood near Interstate 880 Friday afternoon.
Around 1:25 p.m., the department told residents to avoid the area of Mowry Avenue and Farwell Drive. Police did not give an estimated time to clear the area.

Fremont Police told KPIX that officers were assisting Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies with a pursuit and are looking for a possible suspect in the area.
Around 3:40 p.m., police announced the arrests of two people. Additional details about the suspects or what led up to the pursuit were not immediately available.
The manhunt prompted officials with the Fremont Union School District to issue a shelter-in-place order for nearby Mattos and Azevada elementary schools.
"No students are in danger, and this is a precautionary measure," the district said on its website.
The shelter-in-place orders were lifted around 2:20 p.m., district officials said.
