Former San Francisco DA Kamala Harris Re-elected State Attorney General
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- Democratic Attorney General Kamala Harris has defeated her little-known Republican challenger in a bid for her second term as California's top attorney.
Harris won re-election Tuesday in the lopsided race after self-described political novice Ron Gold took an unlikely stand during his campaign in favor of legalizing recreational marijuana.
Harris has said California should wait and watch how Colorado resolves issues that arise from its legalization of pot.

The 50-year-old Harris is a former two-term San Francisco district attorney and was the first black woman elected as district attorney in California when she won that seat in 2003.
A personal friend of President Barack Obama, she is widely expected to run for higher office after serving as attorney general.
