Forecasters Predict Stormy Sierra Memorial Day Weekend
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)-- It could be a stormy Memorial Day holiday, if your travels take you to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite or the High Sierra this weekend.
The National Weather Service is predicting periods of rain, hail, thunder and lightning and even snow over the higher elevations of the Sierra through Sunday morning.
Moderate to heavy showers are forecast for today over much of the range with snow above 8,500 feet. Periods of hail are possible.
The storms should start to decrease by Saturday, although an isolated thundershower is possible.
