Foodie Chap With Winemaker Andrea Card of Benziger Winery
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Andrea Card began working at Benziger in 2001 as the Harvest Lab Technician. Because of her outstanding work, she climbed the ladder to permanent Lab Technician, then Enologist, Harvest Lab Manager and Enologist, Lab Manager and then Production Manager.
Now, as a Winemaker, she directly works winemaking activities from crush through bottling, all while focusing on efficiency and quality. Andrea is responsible for the Organic and Biodynamic© certification for processing grapes and olives including annual inspections of Benziger facilities.
Andrea graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2001 with a degree in Agricultural Business with an emphasis in farm and ranch management. To further her education, Andrea has received a Winemaking Certificate from UC Davis and was a member of the California Agricultural Leadership Program. Benziger has recently partnered with Transcendence Theatre Company releasing two signature wines for the 2016 Broadway Under The Stars performances.
