Fire Crews Respond To 2 House Fires In Brentwood, Oakley Reported Just Minutes Apart
BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- Fire crews responded to two house fires in Oakley and Brentwood on Saturday night that were reported about 10 minutes apart, according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District.
Firefighters responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 500 block of Jane Lane in Oakley around 9:15 p.m., fire Chief Hugh Henderson said.
Crews arrived and knocked down the blaze at a two-story home where smoke and flames were coming from a master bedroom on the ground floor, he said.
The fire had spread to an attic through a heat vent and void space, Henderson said.
The fire caused significant damage estimated at $100,000, according to Henderson.
At about 9:25 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire in the 2500 block of Caddie Court in Brentwood, Henderson said.
A two-story home was on fire and the blaze was confined to the attic space on the second floor, he said.
The fire resulted in major damage to a master bedroom on the upper floor and a hallway, according to Henderson.
There was also smoke and water damage throughout the residence, he said.
The blaze caused an estimated $50,000 in damage, Henderson said.
No injuries were reported in either fire.
The causes of both fires are electrical in nature, he said.
