Crews Contain 4-Alarm Fire Burning Alongside I-580 In Oakland; All Lanes Reopen
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Firefighters in Oakland have contained a four-alarm fire that started burning in brush alongside westbound I-580 near the Keller Avenue exit early Wednesday evening.
CHP issued a severe traffic alert when the brush fire alongside the Oakland freeway blocked lanes.

CHP reported that there was a fire on westbound I-580 west of Keller Avenue. The right lanes are blocked. There was no word if a vehicle was involved in the fire.

As of 6:35 p.m., a fourth-alarm had been called by Oakland firefighter.

Almost an hour later, firefighters tweeted that the fire had been contained. Fire crews would remain on the scene for a time to mop up.

CHP confirmed that all westbound lanes had reopened on I-580 shortly before 8 p.m.
