Filming Of Disaster Flick 'San Andreas' To Cause SF Street Closures
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - San Francisco is getting a visit from Hollywood this week, but not everyone is happy about it.
On Tuesday, film crews will begin shooting the movie 'San Andreas' near Fisherman's Wharf, forcing a two day shutdown of Jefferson Street. Many merchants in the area are upset about the loss of traffic.
The San Francisco Film Commission says it's already gotten a lot of angry calls asking them to rescind the film's permits.
The crew will move to Hyde Street in Russian Hill next week.
The film stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a helicopter pilot on a mission to save his daughter after a devastating earthquake destroys much of the state. Johnson has said he is proud of the hard work he is putting in on the film, which is due out next year.
