Father & Son Suing Ferrari, Facebook Over Control Of Popular Fan Pages

MENLO PARK (CBS SF) -- A father and son from Sweden are suing Menlo Park-based Facebook and Italian sportscar company Ferrari in a California court over claims the social network handed over control of a fan page to the automaker.

Olivier and Sammy Wasen claim the Italian automaker and Facebook teamed up to illegally seize control of a Ferrari fan page, and a separate fan page for F1 racing, according to Bloomberg Business.

"Ferrari wanted it.  So, with Facebook's knowledge and substantial assistance, Ferrari took it." The Wasems said in the complaint.

The two say that their pages attracted more than 16-million fans, and were seeking half the value of the potential advertising revenues they estimated at $174 to $1,000 per fan.

The lawsuit was filed in San Mateo County Superior Court.
