Fatal Crash On I-80 Near Dixon, Westbound On-Ramp Closed
DIXON (CBS SF) -- One person died and three people suffered minor to moderate injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate Highway 80 near Dixon this morning, Dixon Fire Chief Greg Lewis said.
The person who died was driving east on Highway 80 when the vehicle went over the median and onto the westbound lanes and collided with a vehicle containing three occupants, Lewis said.
The westbound vehicle traveled about a mile before it came to rest, Lewis said. Firefighters from Vacaville and Davis also responded to the collision, he said.
California Highway Patrol officials said the crash near the on-ramp at Curry and Milk Farm roads was reported around 9:50 a.m. when a black sedan went across Highway 80 and overturned onto its roof on the on-ramp.
The Solano County coroner's office was summoned at 10:18 a.m.The Milk Farm Road on-ramp to westbound Highway 80 was closed at 10:35 a.m. and re-opened at 11:55 a.m., according to the CHP.
