The crash happened on Stanley Boulevard near Shadow Cliffs Regional Park. Pleasanton Police reported the crash was in front of the Cemex concrete supply facility.

The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles were involved in a crash between Valley and Isabel Avenues. CHP Officer Derek Reed told Bay City News Service that the driver of a Honda sedan heading westbound made a U-turn into the path of a Jetta heading eastbound.

The Honda burst into flames on impact and the driver was trapped inside, Reed said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jetta reportedly was able to walk away from the crash.
