Elderly Woman Killed By Driver Backing Out Of Driveway In Santa Clara
SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- An elderly woman was struck and killed by a car backing out of a driveway in Santa Clara Saturday morning, a police lieutenant said.
A driver was backing their car out of a driveway in the 1200 block of Monroe Street when the car accidentally struck the woman, Santa Clara police Lt. Kurt Clarke said.
The driver stopped to help the woman, but she succumbed to her injuries a short time later. "We believe this was just a tragic accident," Clarke said.
The woman's name has not been released pending notification of relatives. The incident remains under investigation.
