East Indian Woman's Death Deemed Suspicious By Fremont Police

FREMONT (CBS SF) -- The death of a 39-year-old East Indian woman has been deemed suspicious by investigators in Fremont Sunday, police said.

Shortly before 10 a.m. today, police officers responded to a 911 call from a home in the 39000 block of Royal Palm Drive near Azeveda Park.

Officers arrived at the home and discovered the body of a deceased East Indian woman, police said.

The woman's name has not yet been released, but police said she was a resident of the home.

The Fremont Police Crimes Against Persons Unit was called out to the scene and is investigating her death. Police have not said whether the death has been deemed a homicide.

Police detectives are interviewing the woman's family members while investigators with the Alameda County coroner's bureau are investigating the cause of her death.
