East Bay Celebrity Photographer Shares Rare Photos Of Prince

ANTIOCH (KPIX 5) -- Sales of Prince's music and memorabilia have skyrocketed since the superstar's untimely death.

A celebrity photographer in the East Bay is thankful he was able to capture images of his purple highness up close.

George Livingston Jr. has been photographing musicians for 40 years.

"Michael Jackson, James Brown, naturally," he says. "I'm a big James Brown enthusiast."

Livingston says even though Prince is gone, he has no doubt his connection to his fans will remain.

Among the hundreds of press passes he's gotten, the six Prince concerts Livingston attended stand out as some of the best.

Livingston saw Prince perform at places like at the Oakland Coliseum and the Cow Palace.

He recalls when his friend Meeko Weaver scored him tickets for an up-close Prince experience.

"The publicist called me and said, I have two tickets and a photo pass for you!"

Livingstone was thrilled. He remembers watching the show alongside Weaver and hearing her reaction.

"As soon as he comes on - he opens up with 'Let's Go Crazy', she said, 'it's a hit' and the way she said it, I'll never forget it."

"He was just a very creative person and knew how to please his audience," says the Antioch resident. "And that's the greatest thing -- to please your audience."
