Drone Video Captures Power, Fury Of Mavericks Big Wave Wipeouts

HALF MOON BAY (CBS SF) - The Mavericks break off of the San Mateo Coast is a destination for big-wave surfers, but even they have trouble handling the massive swells outside of Pillar Point Harbor.

To capture the successes and failures of those who attempt to ride Mavericks, the video crew from The Go Big Project brought in a drone to get closer to the action than any helicopter ever could.

The crew plans to release the full video of the big wave experience on a program called "Mavericks Moments" to air on Edge TV this year.
