Driver Who Struck And Killed Elderly Pedestrian In SF Arrested

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A vehicle fatally struck an elderly man in San Francisco's Crocker-Amazon neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon, prompting police to arrest the car's driver on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, a police spokesman said Thursday.

Giampaolo Boschetti, a 69-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested following the collision and was booked into custody on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and failure to stop at a stop sign, police said.

The collision was reported at 3:29 p.m. Tuesday at Naples and Rolph streets.

The pedestrian, identified by the medical examiner's office as 86-year-old Zhen Guang Ng, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died.
