Ejected Driver Dies In Sonoma County Rollover, Hit By Car Driven By Bar-Hopping Friend

ROHNERT PARK (CBS SF) -- A 27-year-old Petaluma woman died early Saturday morning in unincorporated Sonoma County, California Highway Patrol officials said.

At 12:20 a.m. the woman was driving a 2007 Toyota Rav4 speeding north on Davis Lane when she lost control of the SUV and overturned south of East Railroad Avenue and southeast of Rohnert Park.

She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from her vehicle. Traveling behind her was a 2011 Honda Fit, which hit and killed her, CHP officials said.

A friend of the woman was driving the Honda.

The woman's friend, a 28-year-old Petaluma man, was interviewed by the CHP and a person from the Sonoma County District Attorney's office and then booked into the county jail.

Kyle Turek was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, felony DUI and driving on suspended license, CHP officials said.

A preliminary investigation indicates the two had been drinking at various bars and restaurants in Petaluma before the collision.
