Decomposed Body Found In Water Off Pier 39 In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A decomposing body was found Tuesday at one of San Francisco's major tourist sites, Pier 39, authorities said.
The San Francisco Fire Department tweeted at 10:30 a.m. that the body was found in the water near the winding pier filled with shops, restaurants and other attractions.
San Francisco police were investigating the death, according to fire officials.
A police boat crew was able to pull the body from the water and determined it was that of a male. The medical examiner's office was looking into the person's identity and will conduct an autopsy to determine how he died, police said.
