House fire in Daly City neighborhood quickly knocked down

DALY CITY – Firefighters quickly knocked down a house fire that broke out in a Daly City neighborhood Monday morning.

According to the North County Fire Authority, firefighters were called to a home on the 1000 block of Hanover Street near Evergreen Avenue around 9:05 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the building, but no occupants were found inside.

Firefighters on the scene told KPIX 5 that the fire was knocked down in minutes and was confined to the one structure. Crews remained on the scene through the morning to conduct salvage and overhaul operations. 

There are no reports of injuries to the fire crews or the public.

Firefighters said five residents were displaced as a result of the fire. The residents are working with the American Red Cross for arrangements.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
