Daily Madden: Sitting Through An 18-Inning Baseball Game And Cleveland Browns Are Back
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— The longest game in Major League Baseball's post-season history lasted 6 hours and 23 minutes , but it may have been well worth the wait since it lead to the San Francisco Giants' 2-1 win over the Washington Nationals.
Coach John Madden said he's never sat through anything like it and he's not one to leave early, even though he wasn't actually at the game "I had a hard time sitting through and watching it on TV," he said.
Meanwhile, there is talk of what's being called a great road comeback when the Cleveland Browns topped the Tennessee Titans 29-28 on Sunday. That was great for Cleveland. They've been down for so long and they became a joke," said Madden.
Quarterback and Cleveland native Brian Hoyer was credited for playing "fabulous football". The Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals didn't fare as well over the weekend, spoiling their undefeated records. "They're kind of who we thought they were, aren't they?" Madden suggested no one really believed they were the best teams in the league anyhow.
Lastly, San Diego's Chargers, who are currently 4 and 1, are starting to build an impressive resume. "They started last year and they kind of got back on track. You could see them become a better-balanced team."
