Daily Madden: Packers Will Be Challenged In NFL Opener

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - John Madden likes the Seahawks in Thursday night's NLF season opener with the Green Bay Packers in Seattle.

"No matter how you cut it, (Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers) is one of the top four or five quarterbacks in the league," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.

"He's smart, he knows how to play the game, he knows what to expect. Now knowing what to expect and being able to handle it is a different thing. Remember the last time he played up there I think he had eight sacks in the first half."

The infamous Seattle crowd noise makes it difficult for any offense. "How does (Rodgers and) the rest of the group around him handle it, and specifically his offensive line and the center and getting the ball snapped on time and everyone not getting beat on the snap... You can have loud music, you can practice it, you can have signals for it, you can have silent snap count... You do work on it. (But) the reality of the noise and handling it are two different things." (7:30)
