Daily Madden: High Praise For Luck And Watt
(KCBS) - Thursday night's game between the Colts and Texans featured two of the top NFL players on both sides of the ball, according to John Madden.
"He's the next Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and he's going to be that for a long time," Madden said of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.
"He's going to be "Andrew Luck top NFL quarterback" when Brady and Manning and Brees and those guys retire. He's still going to be there and be that guy for 15 years... He's wise beyond his years."
Luck and the Colts beat the Texans 33-28, but the Texans' J.J. Watts kept it close at the end with a fumble return for a touchdown.
"In all the years that I've broadcast, there was only one guy -- a defensive player -- that I thought could stop the other team and score himself and by himself win a game, and that was Lawrence Taylor," Madden said. "And now I've found another one in J.J. Watt. I think J.J. Watt is a guy that can win a game by himself. He can stop you and he can also take the ball away from you and score." (7:00)
