Daily Madden: Giants Find Another Way To Win
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The Giants claimed Game 3 in the NLCS with a 10th inning walk-off bunt and error.
"It just goes to show or prove one thing -- that whatever the sport, if you're going to win a lot of games and you're going to win a lot of big games, you have to win them different ways," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.
"Everyone's looking for a blueprint. You know, you have to hit home runs, you have to run, you have to have pitching. And those things are probably all true in the long run.
But when you go game by game by game by game, you have to win it different ways." The Cardinals fought back from a 4-0 first inning deficit to tie the game before St.
Louis pitcher Randy Choate threw away Gregor Blanco's bunt. "They're just two tough teams," Madden said. "They're grinders. No matter what's presented to them, they just grind."
In the ALCS, the Royals took a 3-0 game lead over the Baltimore Orioles. "The Royals are fun to watch," Madden said. "They're the hardest team to not like that I know in any sport." (7:40)
