Daily Madden: Giants 6 And 2, But 154 Left To Play

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -  The Giants sit in first place in the National League West after beating the Diamondbacks 7-3 in their home opener Tuesday.

"You'd rather be there than the opposite of that and struggling," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning.

With a 6-2 record, the Giants have 154 games left to play.

"When you have that many games, I don't know how you can start talking either way about it," Madden said. "They really have to have a short memory. In football, you always had a day or two to live with the last game you played. And then you still had five days to get on with the next one. Those guys (in baseball), sometimes they'll play a night game followed by a day game. I mean, they have like none hours to even think about it. You can't be upset by a loss or a bad game of whatever for two or three days because you will have played two or three more games." (6:45)
