Daily Madden: Everyone Roots For Lincecum
(CBS) - Tim Lincecum's no-hitter Wednesday afternoon brought smiles to Giants fans everywhere. "He's always proven it -- that he's a good guy, and you like him and you root for him," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.
"Even when things weren't going well I think people kind of stayed on his side. Although there are always a few that jumped off and are pulling rotator cuffs now trying to get back on the bandwagon."
It was Lincecum's second no-hitter within two consecutive up-and-down seasons. So far this year, he's 6-5 with a 4.42 ERA.
"I just think the way he is maybe, the way he's built, the way he looks, the way he plays, even during the game the way he's acting in the dugout, he's just a different guy. But a different good guy, the kind that you want to see successful." (7:05)
